Early Years and Teaching and Learning Assessor
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate trainer/assessor/s to join our work-based learning department. You will be able to deliver on Level 3 to Level 5 courses in early years and teaching and learning. You should also have knowledge and experience of early years and teaching and learning.
Job Description: Early Years and Teaching and Learning Assessor
Level: 2 to 5
Contract Type: Freelance or Part time positions available.
Remuneration: depending on experience and skills set.
Working Pattern: 2-3 days per week, Mon-Sun (days can be flexible).
Location: London with some opportunities to deliver online.
Responsible to: Managing Director
Purpose of Job: Assessors are key to the success of our learners’ learning journey. The role is to deliver Early Years and Teaching and Learning courses Level 2 to 5. To be successful in this role you will need the following:
You’ll be responsible for inducting, motivating, coaching and guiding your apprentices through their learning journey; developing inspiring lesson plans, ensuring they’re on track, marking and assessing their work and holding regular reviews to help them progress. You will also be responsible for creating personalised schemes of work including employer plans.
Have excellent communication and ICT skills, be highly organised with excellent time management skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
We’d also like you to:
Hold a related degree level/vocational qualification in Education and Training ie PCET, Post Graduate Diploma in Education.
Hold a related degree level/vocational qualification in Early Years Education/Children or Young Peoples Services. Assessor Qualification -TAQA, A1.
Demonstrate relevant vocational industry experience in the field of early years, education and health.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
• Plan and deliver both knowledge and competency based qualifications according to relevant Awarding Bodies, funding and organisational requirements.
• Plan and deliver workshops or ‘off-the job’ training sessions where necessary to provide effective teaching and learning opportunities to fulfil requirements of the programme.
• Prepare and develop resources to support delivery of the learning programme including e-learning resources.
• Provide support, information and guidance to learners through a coaching model.
• Completion of monthly learner progress reviews and target setting.
• Track learner progression and assess achievement to ensure timely completion of programmes.
• Support, deliver and develop learner’s awareness and skills in areas including literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, employability, sustainability and all crosscutting themes
• Support contract, quality and compliance requirements to ensure attainment, recruitment and caseload targets are met.
• Have a strong commitment to continued professional development and a willingness to explore opportunities for further development.
• Elements of the role may involve working with adults at risk, children and young people in an educational setting.
• Reviewing the safeguarding and wellbeing of learners and escalating through the appropriate process where required.

Essential Criteria
• TAQA or equivalent
• Proven experience of assessing/tutoring vocational qualifications

Travel to a variety of locations to coach learners at their place of work
Carry out risk assessments on employer premises, where needed
Carry out onsite/online coaching, which includes but not limited to, Learning and Development Reviews, review action plans, undertake observations and assessment of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours, provide constructive feedback and build a portfolio of evidence as part of their programme of study to ensure successful achievement and support learners personal and professional development
